I'm Daniel, but you can call me Bekko.
I’ve been playing rhythm games for
as long as I can remember.
I exclusively remember the first rhythm game I played, which was a secret rhythm minigame from Crash Nitro Kart on the Gameboy! Ever since, I’ve been interested in music and ways to visualize it through gameplay.
My first go at charting started out in DDR on my Xbox back in 2014, where I spent my first couple years creating charts. This is where I learned most about game design (charting) and basic music theory, terminology, and composition, as I used those to my advantage to make to an overall cohesive experience. This was also the first time I got experience charting for VSRGS in multiple key layouts.I soon moved over to playing traditional arcade games (Taiko no Tatsujin, Sound Voltex, etc.) and got interested in how different their respective playstyle and therefore, their difference in charting philosophy were. I then spent my time learning a new program charting for taiko simulators, for which I adapted quickly to, after my previous experience in other editors and knowing what to look for.
